Financial Controller – APAC Region

About the role

HyperLight is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Financial Controller to lead finance operations across the APAC region from Singapore. Reporting to the Corporate Controller in the United States, you will also own global cost accounting for the company’s worldwide operations.

Key responsibilities

• Own the monthly close for APAC entities, including journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and reporting to US HQ.
• Lead statutory reporting and regulatory compliance across APAC jurisdictions (local GAAP financial statements, corporate income tax, GST/VAT, withholding tax, transfer pricing documentation, statutory audits, and EDB claim submissions).
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, corporate secretaries, and other professional service providers.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany flows, cash management, and treasury operations for APAC entities.
• Serve as global owner of cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and product‑margin analytics.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and the US Finance team to build a scalable cost‑accounting infrastructure.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a finance leader or controller in the APAC region.
• Strong knowledge of local GAAP, tax regulations, and statutory audit processes across multiple APAC jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated ability to manage external advisors and cross‑functional finance projects.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on cost control and margin discipline.
