Financial Controller

About the role

Lendlease Global Commercial REIT is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead the full spectrum of its finance function, including accounting, tax, treasury and risk management. The role will oversee a team of finance professionals and collaborate with regional functions and external consultants, with a view to becoming a potential successor to the CFO.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day finance operations, monthly closing and variance analysis for the REIT group of entities.
• Ensure accounting and reporting comply with applicable standards and regulatory requirements (SGX, MAS, REIT regulations).
• Prepare quarterly and annual financial results for the board and SGX announcements.
• Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and internal management reporting.
• Coordinate internal and statutory audits, maintaining internal control policies and overseeing enterprise risk management.
• Work with tax consultants on tax computations, filings (income tax, GST) and treasury functions such as cash‑flow management, interest exposure and hedging.
• Support the CFO on corporate finance activities including acquisitions, divestments and equity raising.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Accounting or Finance.
• 10–15 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within a REIT.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards and regulatory requirements (SGX, MAS, REIT regulations).
• Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
• Good knowledge of tax regulations, including GST and corporate tax.
