Financial Institutions Intern

About the role

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) is recruiting a Financial Institutions Intern for its Global Corporate Banking Division for Asia, Financial Institutions Department, based in Singapore. The internship runs from 11 January 2027 to 30 June 2027 and focuses on growing the Financial Institutions business in Asia. The role supports the business in developing strategic initiatives for FI business development as a regional hub, working with FI Relationship Managers and internal partners to implement them and help deliver financial targets.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary analyst on key FI Asia projects to be submitted to the Co-Global Head of Financial Institutions.
• Learn banking products such as Investment Banking, Institutional Investors, Sponsors Global Markets, Transaction Banking and Treasury.
• Work with coverage banking, solutions and business management teams on business proposals, credit and financial analysis, deal execution, KYC, AML and management.
• Write and present, including preparing presentation materials and presenting to business partners and senior management.
• Gather information with business partners, analyse progress and build support for recommendations.
• Solve problems through hypothesis testing and data analysis, and support senior management with project planning and structuring.

Required profile

• Open to Singaporean and PR students only; internship partners include NUS, NTU, SMU, SUTD and SUSS.
• Keen eye for detail and attention to detail, with a "can-do" attitude and quick learning.
• Ability to work under strict timelines and manage multiple projects at once.
• Strong written and spoken English; able to work independently and in teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Project, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Qualitative and quantitative data gathering and analysis.
