Financial Services Assurance Intern – AFL Digital Innovation Garage

About the role

PwC's Financial Services Assurance practice is recruiting an intern for its AFL Digital Innovation Garage (WSP) project, running from December 2026 to August 2027. The internship sits within the assurance line of service and combines traditional audit tasks with digital innovation and data analytics work.

Key responsibilities

• Audit: review financial statements, carry out simple external audit procedures, examine records for accuracy, review internal controls and systems, plan and run audit engagements, prepare audit reports and documentation, identify improvement areas and communicate with clients.
• Digital Innovation Garage: support senior team members in gathering business and data requirements, data analysis and testing for data strategy, roadmap and solution projects, and give recommendations on technology and data solutions.
• Build digital solutions using Python, R or SQL, intermediate-to-advanced Excel (VBA a plus), and tools such as ABBYY, UiPath, Power Automate and Power Apps; exposure to generative AI and prompt design is a strong advantage.
• Data analytics: design data cleansing routines, deploy global tools across the practice, help teams extract data from complex IT systems, and deliver standard and bespoke data analysis.
• Use SQL, Python/R for predictive analytics, web scraping and natural language processing, and tools such as Alteryx, Power BI and Tableau; explore AI and machine learning use cases to improve audit quality and insight.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Accountancy student in Sustainability Management and Analytics participating in the Work-Study Degree Programme at Nanyang Technological University.
• Keen to develop professionally, highly motivated, confident and creative, with a good record of co-curricular activities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, service-oriented and committed to teamwork.
• Exposure or strong interest in generative AI, AI development, data analytics and automation tools is highly valued.
