Freelance Event Producer

About the role

The Freelance Event Producer will lead the end‑to‑end production of pop‑ups, exhibitions and experiential activations for Matlr Creative in Singapore. Working on a project‑by‑project basis, you will translate creative concepts into practical production plans while ensuring safety, quality and budget compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Scope event requirements and develop detailed production schedules, run‑sheets and floor plans.
• Source, negotiate and coordinate vendors, contractors and suppliers.
• Manage on‑site setup, show flow, rehearsals and teardown, troubleshooting issues in real time.
• Prepare and oversee permits, logistics and health‑and‑safety documentation.
• Track budgets, estimate costs, reconcile expenses and ensure projects stay within approved limits.
• Communicate regularly with clients, internal creative teams and stakeholders to align deliverables with the creative vision.
• Conduct post‑event reviews to capture learnings and improve future productions.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present plans to clients and internal teams.
• Proven experience in event planning and production for pop‑ups, exhibitions or experiential events.
• Practical budgeting experience, including cost estimation, quote comparison and expense tracking.
• Solid project‑management capabilities, including timeline management, risk assessment and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Ability to work on‑site in Singapore with flexible hours around key production dates.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and composure under time‑sensitive conditions.
