Fund Accountant (Real Estate)

About the role

IQ-EQ, a global investor services group serving private markets, is looking for a Fund Accountant (Real Estate) to provide high-quality service to its Real Estate clients. You will review financial statements, disclosures and ad-hoc deliverables, act as a subject matter expert on Real Estate fund structures and help improve the department's processes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage financial servicing for a portfolio of RE clients, delivering client reporting accurately and on time
• Review designated client work (NAV, financial statements, ad-hoc tasks) and respond to client and investor queries within 24 hours
• Develop, implement and report quarterly KPIs against agreed SLAs, and prepare the quarter-end timetable
• Maintain regular contact with clients and assist with new business take-on
• Work with the back office to allocate resources, set standards and give timely feedback
• Keep reconciled cash balances for all clients and complete daily electronic timesheets for billing
• Use the Investran accounting platform, keep client databases up to date and follow procedures and checklists to minimise risk
• Report errors and breaches to the Compliance officer and complete error reports for the Senior Accountant

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA or equivalent
• At least 5 years of management accounting or fund accounting experience in the real estate industry
• Knowledge of consolidation with multi-currency legal entities
• Understanding of property systems and processes (e.g. Yardi / Horizon)
• Understanding of income, dilapidations, lease surrender, capital contributions, capital allowances and rent reconciliation
• Knowledge of the real estate industry is essential
• Desired: advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, financial services office experience, and understanding of tax and GST
