General Assurance - Data Analytics Trainee (SMU)

About the role

PwC's General Assurance practice helps organisations improve corporate reporting and comply with regulatory and contractual requirements, serving listed companies, MNCs and emerging companies in Singapore. This trainee position sits within the Assurance line of service and involves working with experienced audit professionals to analyse and process large volumes of client data.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and process large amounts of information and data for clients across a wide range of engagements
• Cleanse and transform data using Alteryx and SQL
• Launch data analysis on business processes such as journal entries, payroll and procurement to derive actionable insights
• Drive report integrity and computation reviews to increase audit efficiency
• Ensure data integrity, run quality control checks and reconciliations during data analysis
• Build data visualisation dashboards in Tableau or Power BI to spot trends, outliers and patterns
• Help move from traditional analytical tools and rule-based workflows to agentic AI and generative AI data architectures (e.g. Copilot and ChatPwC)
• Present findings to internal leaders and external clients, resolve data discrepancies with stakeholders, and recommend process improvements
• Manage several concurrent audit support jobs and deliver results on time

Required profile

• Deep interest in audit and the digitalisation of the profession
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, service-oriented and committed to teamwork
• Technical and analytical skills, with confidence in oral and written presentation
• Ability to work independently and perform under pressure
• Good record of co-curricular activities

Required skills

• Query languages such as SQL
• Data visualisation tools such as Tableau, QlikView, Qlik Sense or Power BI
• Knowledge of data automation tools such as Alteryx and VBA (not mandatory)
• Proactive interest or experience with generative AI and agentic frameworks (e.g. Copilot, LLMs) for automating data workflows
