General Manager – Pre‑Owned Car Sales

About the role

Auto Selection, a leading pre‑owned vehicle retailer in Singapore and part of the Sime Group, is seeking a seasoned sales leader to head its Pre‑Owned / Certified Pre‑Owned business. Reporting to senior management, the General Manager – Sales will be accountable for commercial performance, profitability and sustainable growth of the business.

Key responsibilities

• Own the sales P&L, driving revenue growth, margin protection and healthy stock turnover.
• Define and execute sales and commercial strategies, including pricing frameworks, stock mix and vehicle positioning.
• Lead quarterly and annual business planning, translating strategic objectives into measurable targets for Sales Managers.
• Monitor performance metrics such as revenue, gross margin, inventory ageing and operating costs, and take corrective action when needed.
• Provide strategic leadership to Sales Managers, setting clear KPIs, governance mechanisms and coaching for high‑performance delivery.
• Build a strong sales leadership bench through capability development and succession planning.
• Ensure robust performance reporting, data‑driven decision‑making and governance of pricing and discounting.
• Oversee inventory planning and turnover strategy in partnership with Operations and Finance.
• Maintain market and competitor intelligence to inform pricing, procurement and sales tactics.

Required profile

• Extensive senior sales leadership experience in the automotive or related retail sector.
• Proven track record of managing P&L, achieving revenue and margin targets.
• Strong commercial acumen with ability to balance growth, inventory risk and brand reputation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop sales teams.
• Excellent analytical skills and comfort with data‑driven decision‑making.
