HBM PE Design Validation Engineer

About the role

Micron's HBM HIG (High Bandwidth Memory, Heterogeneous Integration Group) develops low-power-per-bit memory solutions for machine learning and AI by stacking DRAM chips with a logic chip in one package using TSV technology. The role sits at the interface of design, manufacturing, test and quality, and works closely with PE teams to validate HBM designs.

Key responsibilities

• Act as key interface between Design, Manufacturing, Test and Quality, and external customers, collaborating closely with PE teams
• Perform validation work on test modes and designs using simulation, data analysis and ATE/bench analysis
• Resolve manufacturing, test and quality issues through hardware and software debugging in the lab, circuit simulations and data analysis
• Use in-house statistical tools for engineering data analysis to assess product performance and reliability
• Understand JEDEC specifications for HBM and create internal architecture documentation, with knowledge of schematics and layout
• Identify, test and share AI-enabled improvements within your scope of work

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Up to 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Self-motivated, able to work in fast-paced, team-based projects

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of VLSI, semiconductor process and basic device physics
• Exposure to schematic, simulation, data analysis, lab debugging or pattern manipulation
• Experience with Verilog, VHDL or SystemVerilog
