Head of Technology Control & Prevention

About the role

The Head of Control & Prevention will report to the Chief Information Officer and lead the Technology Control & Prevention function. This senior position is responsible for strengthening the bank’s ownership of technology and cyber risks, ensuring compliance with risk appetite and regulatory requirements, and supporting secure digital transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Technology Control & Prevention function and shape the bank’s technology risk and control agenda.
• Identify, assess, monitor, report and remediate technology and cyber risks across the organization.
• Strengthen Line 1 ownership and accountability for risk management and control execution.
• Act as liaison between Technology, Technology Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit and regulators.
• Oversee risk reporting, KRIs, risk registers, issue management and remediation tracking.
• Lead incident governance, escalation, root‑cause analysis and regulatory notifications.
• Coordinate audits, regulatory inspections and independent reviews, ensuring timely closure of findings.
• Drive responses to regulatory findings and continuous improvement of the risk and control environment.
• Build a strong risk culture and develop a high‑performing team.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Cyber Security or a related discipline.
• At least 12 years of experience in technology risk, cyber security, governance, operational risk, audit or technology functions, with 8 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven stakeholder‑management and team‑leadership skills.
• Strong understanding of technology and cyber risk frameworks, governance processes and regulatory expectations.
• Experience engaging regulators, auditors and senior management on technology risk matters.
• Ability to influence, challenge and drive risk ownership across complex technology environments.
• Professional certifications such as CRISC, CISM, CISSP, CISA, CCSP or CGEIT are advantageous.
