High School Permanent Substitute Teacher (One-year contract)

About the role

This full‑time position supports high‑school teachers who are away for professional development, projects, or other absences. The permanent substitute will be on campus every school workday for a one‑year contract, collaborating with teachers to ensure continuity of learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction and actively engage students during teacher absences.
• Collaborate with teachers in advance to review lesson plans and expectations.
• Give feedback to teachers on lesson delivery and student progress.
• Supervise and manage student activities when not teaching.
• Participate in professional development, walkthroughs, and PLC meetings.
• Utilise flexible learning spaces, technology, and Tier I instructional practices to meet diverse learner needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Master’s preferred).
• Teaching licence or degree in education.
• At least two years of full‑time teaching experience (preferred).
• Experience with standards‑based curriculum and the Science of Reading approach (preferred).
• Strong classroom management and excellent verbal and written English skills.
