In-House Legal Counsel / Corporate Lawyer

About the role

The In-House Legal Counsel provides strategic legal advice and comprehensive support across the organisation, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations while protecting commercial and corporate interests. The role works closely with executive leadership and multiple business functions to enable growth and maintain strong legal governance.

Key responsibilities

• Advise senior management on legal matters affecting the business.
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, partnership, vendor, licensing, service, and confidentiality agreements.
• Support corporate governance, M&A transactions, corporate restructuring, and corporate secretarial duties.
• Provide guidance on employment law, data privacy (including GDPR), anti‑bribery, AML, sanctions, and industry‑specific compliance.
• Assist with digital transformation initiatives, technology agreements, AI and generative AI governance, and cybersecurity matters.
• Monitor regulatory changes, conduct risk assessments, and develop legal policies.
• Manage dispute resolution, litigation oversight, and coordination with external counsel.

Required profile

• LL.B., J.D. or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Significant experience as an in‑house legal counsel or corporate lawyer supporting commercial organisations.
• Deep knowledge of corporate, commercial, contract, employment, IP, M&A, and regulatory law.

Required skills

• Extensive experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Strong understanding of data‑privacy regulations such as GDPR and local privacy laws.
• Familiarity with anti‑bribery, AML, sanctions compliance, and corporate governance frameworks.
• Experience advising on technology contracts, AI governance, and cybersecurity matters.
