Independent ASEAN Equities Analyst

About the role
Smartkarma, a provider of an AI-augmented investment intelligence platform serving global institutional investors and corporate decision-makers, is seeking a senior independent analyst to build and scale comprehensive ASEAN equities coverage, with a particular focus on Indonesia and the broader ASEAN region. Key responsibilities
- Deliver equity bottom-up analysis, including company tear-sheets, channel checks and management-meeting takeaways
- Provide thematic commentary on economic and sectoral drivers across ASEAN markets
- Apply valuation and relative-value frameworks, with benchmark comparisons and peer analyses
- Write event-driven briefs covering earnings previews, corporate actions and capital-markets updates
- Offer a high-touch service for select institutional clients
Required profile
- Extensive research and/or investment experience for institutional clients (10 years or more)
- Proven track record and an extensive network across ASEAN equity capital markets
- Demonstrated ability to write research
