Industrial Designer – Soft Goods

About the role

UNIQ is looking for a Product Designer specialized in soft goods to create innovative textile‑based products such as apparel, accessories, bags and other soft items. You will translate concepts into functional, durable and aesthetically‑pleasing designs that align with the brand’s philosophy of beautiful, subtle design.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and review product prototypes, samples and communicate changes to factories.
• Research current trends, prints and colours, and perform design analysis.
• Create concept sketches, mood boards and colour boards using digital or hand‑drawn methods.
• Oversee the full design‑to‑launch process, including research, planning, budgeting and production coordination.
• Liaise with factories and suppliers to monitor sample status and order progress.
• Assist in photoshoots for new product launches.

Required profile

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in soft‑goods or textile product design.
• Diploma or degree in Design (preferred).
• Fluent English and Mandarin for communication with Chinese suppliers.
• Strong aesthetic sense and understanding of textile manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• 3D CAD software: NX, Rhino, Alias, SolidWorks.
• 2D design tools: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign.
