Infrastructure Specialist – 12‑Month Contract

About the role

The IT Infrastructure Specialist joins Seaspan’s global IT team to provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for both on‑premises and cloud core infrastructure. The role serves a small executive user group on‑site while also supporting remote offices, vessels, and a 24/7 multinational environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Tier 1 and Tier 2 operational support for on‑premises and cloud infrastructure, handling troubleshooting, remediation, and escalation.
• Respond to assigned ticket queues within defined SLAs and provide priority support for user devices, collaboration tools, and meeting technologies.
• Monitor core services—including compute, storage, networking, security, and cloud platforms—and address critical alerts promptly.
• Administer Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Office 365, VMware, Windows Server, Fortinet firewalls, network switches, access management, and Citrix Cloud environments.
• Act as escalation point for infrastructure services on vessels and remote sites, using remote‑access tools and occasional on‑site visits for audits or major issue resolution.
• Manage enterprise patching and updates to maintain compliance with vulnerability‑management standards.
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and configurations.
• Automate repetitive tasks with PowerShell scripting to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Coordinate local IT vendors and service providers as needed.
