Instrumentation Engineer

About the role

Element is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to support geotechnical instrumentation projects across major infrastructure works. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of sensor and monitoring equipment – from design and documentation through on‑site installation, data acquisition and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare engineering documents for client approval and supervise on‑site installation of sensors, instruments and equipment.
• Manage site personnel, ensuring accurate data processing, analysis and timely submission of reports.
• Attend project meetings, control schedules, obtain permits and commission monitoring systems.
• Design, plan and coordinate geotechnical instrumentation schemes, updating health, safety, environmental and quality documentation.
• Liaise with clients to resolve installation and monitoring issues, producing method statements, quality plans, calibration records and data verification reports.
• Maintain instrumentation drawings, web‑based databases and present data to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology recognised by the PE Board.
• Minimum 3 years experience on major infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in geotechnical instrumentation and site investigation works.
