Intern - F10 Manufacturing Engineer (Diffusion Capacity Optimization)

About the role

Micron is offering a 5-month full-time internship (January to May 2027) as an F10 Manufacturing Engineer in its Diffusion manufacturing area. The project focuses on improving capacity and operational efficiency by analyzing manufacturing data, evaluating workstation performance and investigating recurring production constraints. Successful interns may be considered for further internships, graduate opportunities or full-time employment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing, equipment and capacity performance data in the Diffusion area
• Identify bottlenecks and capacity losses such as equipment downtime, process holds, maintenance events and product mix constraints
• Apply methods such as Pareto analysis, Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis and capacity modelling
• Collaborate with Process Engineering, Equipment Engineering, Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering teams
• Use AI-enabled analytics tools where appropriate
• Produce a capacity performance assessment, an engineering analysis of constraints, a technical report and a final presentation

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial and Systems, Manufacturing, Materials Science, Semiconductor Engineering or a related field
• Ability to commit to a full-time 5-month internship from January to May 2027
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Required skills

• Fundamental understanding of manufacturing or engineering systems
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and data interpretation
• Advantageous: Excel, JMP, Python, SQL, Power BI
• Advantageous: SPC, Lean Manufacturing, root cause analysis, AI-enabled analytics tools
