Intern - Front-End Materials Procurement Operations

About the role

Micron's Global Procurement team is running an AI-enabled procurement analytics and process transformation project in its Front-End Materials Procurement Operations. The intern carries out a structured project on data analytics, artificial intelligence and automation, gaining hands-on exposure to procurement systems, supply-chain data, inventory analysis and workflow improvement. The internship runs for five months, from January to May 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze procurement workflows, data and inventory indicators to identify risks, trends and improvement opportunities.
• Develop an AI-enabled tracking and analytics solution for selected procurement and supply-chain activities.
• Apply Agentic AI, data visualization or robotic process automation to improve information visibility and process efficiency.
• Build or enhance procurement tools, dashboards and analytical processes.
• Design an Agentic AI solution to analyze procurement and supply-chain data and spot trends, risks and opportunities.
• Review selected workflows with cross-functional stakeholders and propose improvements.
• Analyze inventory levels, safety stock, material risks, shortages and delivery concerns.

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems or a related field.
• Able to commit to a full-time five-month internship (January to May 2027).
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented and comfortable in a global, fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI.
• Interest in tools such as UiPath, Tableau, Microsoft Power Automate or other automation platforms.
• Familiarity with AI tools, Agentic AI, generative AI, data analytics or AI-enabled workflows.
• Strong analytical, data interpretation, problem-solving and communication skills.

Interns may be considered for future internship or full-time employment based on business needs and the recruitment process. Internship completion includes a final project report and presentation to department leaders.
