Intern - Medical Technologist (Special Chemistry)

About the role

Labcorp is seeking an Intern - Medical Technologist (Special Chemistry) in Singapore. The internship lasts at least 20 weeks, full time and on site, from January to June 2027, and is paid. It gives students hands-on laboratory experience in a drug development company's lab, within the Special Chemistry department, which covers immunological techniques from automation to manual testing used in clinical trials.

Key responsibilities

• Gain clinical experience in a laboratory setting, covering clinical testing from sample collection to testing and the use of different tests
• Learn protein electrophoresis techniques and interpret results in Multiple Myeloma
• Operate and maintain multiple analyzers, perform quality control testing, and carry out instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
• Attend laboratory modules on quality control management, pipetting skills and informatics labware
• Take part in professional development workshops and receive instruction and mentorship
• Present findings at the end of training to show understanding of the project assignment

Required profile

• Current enrollment in Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Biochemistry or a related Bachelor's degree program; other degrees may be considered
• Final-year students expected to graduate in July/August 2027 are preferred
• Good organization and multitasking ability, effective verbal and written communication, and strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• A proactive, collaborative mindset
