Intern - MSB Test Engineer

About the role

Micron is looking for an MSB Test Engineer intern in its Test Engineering department in Singapore. The project focuses on AI-enabled predictive analytics for SSD test equipment health monitoring, aiming to identify early signs of equipment degradation and optimise maintenance in a high-volume semiconductor manufacturing environment. The intern gains hands-on exposure to semiconductor manufacturing, equipment engineering, data analytics, automation and AI-enabled workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Learn SSD test manufacturing processes and the architecture and operation of automated SSD test equipment platforms.
• Extract, cleanse, analyse and visualise engineering datasets, and apply AI tools to derive equipment health insights.
• Collaborate with equipment, process, manufacturing and automation engineering teams on cross-functional improvements.
• Deliverables: a centralised equipment health monitoring dashboard, statistical analysis of equipment performance indicators, an AI-assisted anomaly detection methodology for selected subsystems, and recommendations for predictive maintenance.
• Document the analysis methodology, results and business impact, then present outcomes to site engineering stakeholders.

Required profile

• Student pursuing Computer, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Data Science, Industrial, Computer Science or AI-related engineering.
• Full-time internship commitment of 5 months from January to May 2027.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate in cross-functional teams.

Required skills

• Fundamental understanding of engineering principles and data analysis concepts.
• Programming in Python, SQL or equivalent analytical tools.
• Data visualisation with Tableau, Power BI or similar.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and good written and verbal communication.
• Exposure to AI tools, machine learning or AI-enabled workflows is advantageous.
