Intern - MSB Test Engineering

About the role

Micron's Test Engineering department in Singapore (Bendemeer) is offering an internship on the project "AI-Driven Semiconductor Failure Analysis and Laboratory Digitalisation". It gives hands-on exposure to semiconductor failure analysis, laboratory automation and AI-enabled engineering workflows, using data analytics and digital tools to improve failure analysis efficiency and engineering decision-making. The project aims to develop a digital or AI-enabled solution that improves failure analysis workflow efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse laboratory operational metrics, turnaround-time trends and engineering datasets.
• Develop dashboards, automation tools or knowledge-management solutions for selected failure analysis workflows.
• Explore Micron-qualified AI, generative AI and AI assistant tools for knowledge retrieval, reporting and workflow efficiency.
• Collaborate with Test Engineering stakeholders to understand failure analysis requirements and validate proposed solutions.
• Present project findings and recommendations to engineering stakeholders.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Able to commit to a full-time internship of 5 months from January to June 2027.
• Interest in AI, machine learning and AI-enabled engineering applications.

Required skills

• Basic programming in Python, SQL or a similar language.
• Familiarity with data analytics, data visualization, automation tools or workflow development.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and workflow platforms is advantageous.

High-performing interns may be considered for future internship or full-time employment within Micron's engineering organization, depending on business needs and hiring requirements. The internship is based at Micron Singapore Bendemeer.
