Intern, Photo Manufacturing Data Analytics and AI

About the role

Micron is looking for an intern in its Photo Manufacturing area in Singapore to study how train size affects throughput and productivity in semiconductor wafer fabrication. The project applies data analytics, statistical modelling and manufacturing knowledge to a real production challenge, with the goal of improving factory output and tool utilization while keeping product quality and cycle time.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, validate and consolidate Photo Manufacturing data from approved sources.
• Analyze historical train size trends across products, process flows and tool groups.
• Study the relationship between train size and throughput, cycle time, process-on-time, tool utilization and reticle availability.
• Identify process, capacity, reticle and lot-loading factors that limit train size optimization.
• Develop predictive or simulation models and dashboards to evaluate improvement scenarios.
• Deliver a data analysis of the key factors, a model, a dashboard, recommendations and a final presentation.

Required profile

• Student pursuing a degree in Chemical, Electrical, Industrial and Systems, Manufacturing, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics or a related field.
• Ability to commit to a full-time internship of at least 5 months from January to May 2027.
• High-performing interns may be considered for future full-time opportunities, subject to business needs and the selection process.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with data analysis and visualization.
• Advantageous: Power BI, Tableau, JMP, SQL or Python.
• Advantageous: statistical methods, AI tools or AI-enabled analytical workflows.
