Intern - PLN (Planning) Strategic Layout

About the role

Micron is looking for an intern for its Fab 10 Strategic Planning project, which aims to enable the ramp-up of the MSH probe manufacturing line through AI-driven layout planning and process automation. Working under the guidance of an engineer, the intern evaluates planning workflows, carries out site assessments and develops AI-enabled solutions that improve planning accuracy, productivity and decision-making, in collaboration with Layout Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production and other stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments for incoming tools and evaluate installation readiness
• Map existing planning processes and identify bottlenecks or repetitive activities
• Develop automation using Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, Python, SQL or data analytics tools
• Apply prompt-engineering techniques to improve AI-assisted analysis and knowledge retrieval
• Document the solution and prepare user guidance and handover materials
• Deliver site-assessment findings, at least one AI-enabled automation solution, measured benefits and a final project presentation

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree or equivalent in Industrial and Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline
• Ability to commit to a full-time, credit-bearing internship of at least 5 months from January to May 2027
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and systems-thinking abilities

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and effective stakeholder communication
• Interest in Generative AI, Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled workflows
• Advantageous: workflow automation with Power Automate, Python, SQL, Power BI or Tableau
