Intern - Process & Equipment Engineering (AI Transformation)

About the role

Micron Technology, Inc. is recruiting an intern for its Process and Equipment Engineering team in Singapore, under the project "Artificial Intelligence Transformation for Process and Equipment Engineering". The project aims to improve engineering productivity and data-driven decision-making by applying AI, automation and advanced data analytics to process and equipment engineering. The intern works with engineers and subject-matter experts to develop and validate a project-based solution.

Key responsibilities

• Identify a suitable process or equipment engineering use case for an AI-enabled solution.
• Develop an application, agentic solution, analytical model or automated digital workflow that improves how engineering information is accessed, analysed or interpreted.
• Apply AI, automation and data analytics to improve problem-solving and decision-making.
• Evaluate the solution against defined technical and engineering criteria.
• Explore manufacturing, process, equipment or engineering datasets and choose suitable analytical approaches.
• Use techniques such as statistical analysis, machine learning, Generative AI, large language models, data visualisation and workflow automation.
• Test, validate, document and present the solution, including its potential impact on yield, quality, cost, productivity or cycle time.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a degree or equivalent in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Materials Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline.
• Full-time commitment to a 5-month internship from January to May 2027.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work with interdisciplinary engineering teams.

Required skills

• Familiarity with data analysis, statistics or programming in Python, SQL, R or similar tools.
• Familiarity with AI, machine learning, Generative AI, AI assistants or other AI-enabled workflows.

Successful completion of the internship may lead to exposure to future graduate employment opportunities, subject to business needs, position availability and the selection process. The deliverables include a working AI-enabled application or model, a documented methodology, a demonstration of engineering value and a final technical report and presentation.
