Intern - SSD Manufacturing

About the role

Micron Singapore Bendemeer is looking for an Intern in Solid State Drive Manufacturing. The intern joins the Manufacturing Operations team on a structured improvement project that applies industrial engineering, lean manufacturing and data analytics to find opportunities for productivity, quality, safety, material flow and operational efficiency. The project may cover Front End of Line, Middle End of Line, Back of Line or Configure-to-Order operations, and the intern works with Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality and Planning stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct manufacturing time studies and process observations to identify non-value-added activities.
• Analyse production layouts, material flow, logistics, workplace organisation and ergonomics.
• Evaluate process quality, capacity, utilisation, throughput and other performance indicators.
• Develop dashboards or visualisations using Excel, Power BI, Tableau or AI-enabled analytics tools.
• Propose and evaluate improvement solutions with impact assessment and implementation planning.
• Deliver a current-state assessment, improvement analysis, selected proposal or pilot plan, and a final presentation with documentation.

Required profile

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Data Analytics, Operations Management or a related discipline.
• Able to commit to a full-time 5-month internship from January to May 2027.
• Good written and verbal communication, and ability to work independently with cross-functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel proficiency and familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
• Familiarity with SQL, Python, statistical analysis, Generative AI or AI assistants is an advantage.
