Internal Auditor – Insurance (Financial Services)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Internal Auditor to join a leading financial institution and strengthen its governance and risk management framework within the insurance business. You will conduct independent reviews, evaluate internal controls and partner with stakeholders to drive operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, report and follow‑up on end‑to‑end internal audit engagements.
• Assess internal controls, governance practices and risk management processes across business functions.
• Contribute to the annual audit programme through enterprise risk assessments and audit planning.
• Gather and analyse audit evidence, identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Prepare audit documentation and working papers in line with professional standards.
• Present findings to stakeholders and facilitate discussions on risk mitigation.
• Track implementation of audit actions and validate remediation effectiveness.
• Participate in advisory projects, business transformation initiatives and special investigations.

Required profile

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, Business or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, risk advisory or similar assurance function.
• Prior experience in banking, insurance or financial services is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of internal control frameworks, corporate governance and risk management.
• Excellent analytical, investigative and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments independently and meet tight deadlines.
