Inventory & Laboratory Support Officer

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Inventory & Laboratory Support Officer to manage the receipt, storage, and distribution of biological materials and laboratory supplies at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and verify incoming biological products, reagents and consumables against delivery documentation.
• Store biological materials in accordance with biosafety, temperature and handling requirements.
• Perform labeling, data entry and maintain accurate inventory documentation.
• Prepare, pick and issue supplies to internal users based on approved requisitions.
• Update records in the inventory management system to ensure timely order fulfilment.
• Conduct periodic stock‑taking and monitor inventory levels and expiry dates.
• Identify expiring, expired or damaged items and arrange safe disposal following biosafety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization and compliance of storage areas.

Required profile

• A‑Level or Diploma in Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in a laboratory, research or warehouse environment handling biological materials.
• Basic knowledge of biosafety protocols and cold‑chain management.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and stock‑taking procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and inventory tracking tools.
• Strong attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety guidelines, working independently or as part of a team.
• Physically fit for lifting and moving stock items.
