IT Security Officer – Operational Technology (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The IT Security Officer will safeguard the operational technology (OT) infrastructure that supports Singapore's Meteorological Service. This 12‑month fixed‑term position blends cybersecurity expertise with knowledge of specialised environmental monitoring systems to ensure weather observation, forecasting and dissemination platforms remain secure and resilient.

Key responsibilities

• Discover and document OT assets across meteorological networks using passive, non‑disruptive monitoring tools.
• Maintain a comprehensive OT Asset Register and produce detailed IT/OT network topology diagrams, risk‑rating each connection point.
• Map data flows between OT and IT environments to identify lateral attack paths.
• Monitor and defend OT systems such as weather radars, satellite ground stations, upper‑air sounding systems and automated weather observation stations.
• Operate and maintain SIEM tools to detect anomalies across hybrid IT/OT environments.
• Collaborate with the Agency’s CISO to manage critical patch deployments and respond to security incidents.

Required profile

• Strong background in cybersecurity with proven experience protecting OT environments.
• Understanding of environmental monitoring technologies and their integration with corporate IT networks.
• Ability to produce accurate network architecture documentation and risk assessments.
• Experience working closely with senior security leadership (e.g., CISO) on incident response and patch management.
