About the role

Sharpa is seeking an IT Technical Support Engineer to provide day‑to‑day desktop and infrastructure assistance for its growing teams in Singapore, Shanghai and Mountain View. The role focuses on supporting Windows, macOS and Ubuntu environments while ensuring smooth operation of office equipment and meeting‑room technology.

Key responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop operating systems (Windows 11, macOS, Ubuntu).
  • Resolve network connectivity issues (LAN/Wi‑Fi) and support printers, displays, and peripherals.
  • Manage onboarding and off‑boarding processes, including device provisioning and asset reclamation.
  • Maintain the IT asset register for computers, monitors, peripherals and network cables.
  • Configure and troubleshoot video‑conferencing systems (Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms) and provide on‑site support during meetings.
  • Inspect and perform basic maintenance on access‑control and surveillance systems, coordinating vendor repairs as needed.
  • Conduct regular server‑room walkthroughs to monitor servers, network devices, HVAC, UPS and environmental conditions.
  • Execute ad‑hoc tasks and projects assigned by management.

Required profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in IT Helpdesk, Desktop Support or System Support.
  • Strong problem‑analysis abilities and clear logical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills and a service‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

  • Proficiency with Ubuntu/Linux installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience configuring Windows 11 and macOS desktop environments.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, LAN and Wi‑Fi networking fundamentals.
  • Hardware troubleshooting and selection knowledge.
  • Deployment and support of Microsoft Office 365, WPS Office, Outlook and webmail clients.
  • Setup and support of video‑conferencing platforms (Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms).
  • Basic maintenance of access‑control, surveillance and server‑room equipment.
