Japanese and Korean Language Teacher - Middle/High School

About the role

Stamford American International School, an IB World School in Singapore serving students aged 2 months to 18 years, is looking for a Japanese and Korean language teacher to join its Middle/High School team. The school offers the full IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) and runs IB MYP/DP, College Board AP, BTEC and Stamford courses.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver the IB MYP/DP, AP, BTEC and/or Stamford course programs
• Engage a diverse student population in the target curriculum standards, recognising and supporting their individual assets, identities and needs
• Support students' holistic development through formal programs and other contributions
• Support the Stamford community through communications and responsibilities with a range of stakeholders

Required profile

• At least 3 years of teaching experience in a middle/high school setting
• At least 3 years of relevant program experience (IB MYP/IBDP/AP/BTEC) preferred
• Strong background and experience teaching Japanese and Korean as a first language and as an additional language
• Knowledge and experience in language acquisition
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent; professional current teacher licensure or certification required; Master's degree preferred
• International school teaching experience, curriculum development, advisory/pastoral experience and multilingualism are preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English, Japanese and Korean
• Proficiency in school systems, databases, communications platforms and educational technology
• Interpersonal and teamwork skills
