Java Backend Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Java Backend Software Engineer to join the Capital Market IT team at Crédit Agricole CIB’s Singapore hub. You will work on the COMET collateral‑management project, delivering new in‑house applications that support front‑ and back‑office operations across the bank’s global network.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and debug Java‑based backend services for the COMET platform.
• Analyse user requirements and translate them into robust software solutions.
• Integrate data feeds from position‑keeping systems and internal repositories.
• Implement collateral contract management, margin‑call calculations, reconciliation and reporting features.
• Identify and resolve security risks, perform threat modelling and ensure coding standards meet security requirements.
• Maintain the software configuration management plan, oversee build, verification and release processes.
• Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues in an Agile environment.

Required profile

• Strong programming aptitude with experience in Java backend development.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on complex, large‑scale projects.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software lifecycle best practices.
• Good analytical skills to diagnose issues that have organisation‑wide impact.
