Job Ambassador – Community Workforce Development

About the role

The Job Ambassador will lead the engagement of resident jobseekers and coordinate the onboarding of community employers to the Jobs Nearby @ CDC scheme. This role connects residents with local employment opportunities through targeted workforce development and job‑matching initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised guidance to resident jobseekers, listening with empathy and supporting each step of their job‑search journey.
• Coordinate with SMEs, neighbourhood businesses and community‑based employers to create job‑seeker profiles, manage job listings and maximise the use of the job portal.
• Assist jobseekers in setting up digital profiles, uploading documents and navigating online application platforms.
• Facilitate connections between jobseekers and employers through face‑to‑face or virtual interviews, including on‑the‑spot interviews.
• Monitor progress, conduct regular follow‑ups and review service delivery to continuously improve outcomes for both jobseekers and employers.
• Expand employer networks, build relationships and organise events such as job fairs and outreach activities.
• Track and report data on registrations, employer sign‑ups and success stories for monitoring and evaluation.
• Provide operational guidance to new Job Ambassadors during onboarding.

Required profile

• Experience in outreach, career advisory, community engagement, HR/recruitment or workforce development.
• Ability to communicate in a second language (e.g., Mandarin, Malay, Tamil or local dialects) to engage diverse residents.
• Strong interpersonal skills and basic knowledge of job‑market trends and workforce policies.
• Willingness to travel frequently across the district and work evenings, weekends or public holidays as needed.
• Proactive, persuasive and resource‑ful with the ability to work independently.
