Junior Financial Controller

About the role

A Singapore-based entity of a global Multinational Group, represented by its consultant, is looking for a Junior Financial Controller to support its local operations. The role covers the full spectrum of finance activities for the Singapore business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, strong internal controls and effective financial support for Business Units and Project Teams. It partners with operational leaders to drive financial performance, project profitability and strategic decisions while aligning with Group reporting and governance.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in line with accounting standards and Group reporting requirements.
• Monitor and follow up on financial performance with Business Units and project teams, and compile financial information for internal reporting.
• Maintain accounting records and control procedures, and review accounting reports for accuracy and compliance.
• Analyze expenditures against budgets and monitor project and operational financial performance.
• Support Project Managers and Business Unit leaders with project budgets, financial forecasts and performance monitoring.
• Guide project and administrative teams on financial processes and accounting policies, and help them interpret financial results.
• Liaise with external auditors, support statutory audits and carry out internal reviews or audits when required.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting, and ensure compliance with company health and safety policies.

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce or Accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control; ability to analyze financial data and prepare reports and forecasts.
• Ability to work within flexible schedules and fixed reporting deadlines, especially during month-end closing, and to handle unexpected operational or system issues.
• Integrity, confidentiality, planning and organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with finance and operational teams.

Required skills

• High proficiency in financial systems such as ERP systems, Excel and BI tools.
