Laboratory Technician – Jurong Island

About the role

Chevron is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its Oronite plant on Jurong Island, Singapore. The role supports plant operations and customer service by performing a range of analytical and in‑process tests on raw materials, components and finished products.

Key responsibilities

• Perform approved analytical tests using ASTM and in‑house methods on raw materials, components and finished products.
• Carry out in‑process tests as required by the Technical and Operations departments.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment and conduct tests on standard reference samples, maintaining SMC/SQC charts.
• Assist chemists with lab blend studies and analysis of non‑routine samples.
• Handle sample bottles in the retention room according to corporate guidelines and ensure the laboratory remains clean and tidy.
• Stay updated on changes to test methods and calibration procedures to guarantee result accuracy.

Required profile

• Diploma in Chemical Process Technology, Chemical or Biochemical Sciences or equivalent.
• Preferably at least 2 years of experience in a refinery, petrochemical or chemical environment; candidates without experience may be considered for training.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and organisational abilities.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotating shifts.
