Lead DevOps Engineer – AI/ML Platform (Foundry R&D)

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to own and evolve the AI/ML platform that powers the Foundry R&D initiatives. You will work at the intersection of DevOps, Platform Engineering, and MLOps, enabling rapid, safe, and reproducible machine‑learning development for internal research teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain core platform components such as Azure, AKS, GPU compute, Databricks, Terraform/Terragrunt, GitHub Actions, and GitOps.
• Establish reusable CI/CD patterns, scalable inference pipelines, orchestration, observability, and cost‑control mechanisms.
• Implement secure automation and access controls in partnership with security and compliance teams.
• Provide monitoring, logging, and alerting tailored to ML workloads to ensure reliability and performance.
• Lead technical initiatives, review code, enforce best practices, and improve tooling across the DevOps and platform landscape.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, curious, and motivated professional comfortable in fast‑moving R&D environments.
• Strong leadership mindset with the ability to guide teams without being an AI modeler.
• Experience delivering production‑grade infrastructure for AI/ML workloads.
