Lead DevOps – Source Code & Build System

About the role

Dyson is looking for a Lead DevOps specialist to own and evolve the source code management and build toolchain that supports its global engineering teams. You will act as the subject‑matter expert for the SDLC platform, ensuring reliability, security and scalability while delivering a seamless developer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure and govern core SDLC tools (e.g., Bitbucket, Jira, CI/build systems).
• Deploy and manage projects, repositories, pipelines, permission models and workflow templates.
• Design and enforce identity and access management policies using SSO, LDAP and Azure AD.
• Maintain end‑to‑end integrations across the toolchain (Jira ↔ Bitbucket, Bitbucket ↔ CI, CI ↔ SonarQube/BlackDuck, CI ↔ Artifactory).
• Ensure traceability from planning to artefact delivery and support audit/compliance requirements.
• Monitor platform health, logs and performance; respond to incidents and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Hands‑on technical background with strong systems thinking and diagnostic skills.
• Experience supporting engineering teams across multiple programmes and regions.
• Ability to partner with product owners and DevOps engineers to shape tooling strategy.
• Proactive, user‑focused problem‑solver who can drive governance and best‑practice adoption.

Required skills

• Bitbucket (or similar Git repository management).
• Jira configuration and workflow management.
• CI/CD build systems (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, Azure Pipelines).
• SonarQube and BlackDuck for code quality and security scanning.
• Artifactory or equivalent artifact repository.
• Identity integration (SSO, LDAP, Azure AD) and least‑privilege access control.
• Monitoring and incident management of platform services.
