Lead, Industry and Research Collaborations – College of Engineering

About the role

The College of Engineering at Nanyang Technological University seeks a senior leader to oversee industry and research collaborations across the college. Reporting to the Head of Research and Partnerships, you will manage a small team and drive the full life‑cycle of research agreements, ensuring timely, compliant, and impactful partnerships.

Key responsibilities

• Provide college‑level oversight of research agreements from pre‑contract advisory through execution, variation, and closure.
• Guide faculty and stakeholders on appropriate agreement structures, templates, and processes for diverse collaboration models.
• Review draft agreements, identify governance, compliance, and operational considerations, and ensure alignment with university policies.
• Coordinate with schools, central offices, faculty, and external partners to facilitate timely review, negotiation, and execution.
• Monitor agreement progress, flag bottlenecks or risks, and drive resolutions to support project commencement.
• Serve as escalation point for complex or non‑standard agreements, addressing funding terms, IP, export control, liability, and risk matters.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing research or industry collaboration agreements within a higher‑education or research institution.
• Strong understanding of university governance, compliance, intellectual property, and export‑control regulations.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across academic and administrative units.
• Leadership experience overseeing a small team and driving process improvement.
