Lead Mechanical Engineer

About the role

LionsBot is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer to drive the design and development of fully autonomous cleaning robots. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on engineering to ensure high‑quality hardware solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement solutions for complex robotic components and features.
• Lead a team of design engineers, managing timelines, quality standards, and deliverables.
• Own the end‑to‑end design process from concept through prototyping, testing, and product release.
• Rapidly prototype ideas using 3D printing, laser cutting, and sheet‑metal fabrication.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to integrate hardware seamlessly.
• Create detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and BOMs.
• Produce technical documentation for production hand‑over.
• Perform risk assessments and define mitigation strategies.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to source components and ensure design compliance.
• Stay current with robotics hardware trends and incorporate innovative technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 4‑5+ years of experience in product development, design engineering, or related roles.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
