Lecturer (Banking & Finance)

About the role

Nanyang Polytechnic's School of Business Management is recruiting a Lecturer in Banking & Finance. The role brings industry expertise into shaping curriculum, teaching practice and learner development, strengthening applied, industry-relevant learning and keeping programmes responsive to the evolving skills needs of the financial sector. It also involves mentoring junior lecturers, building partnerships with industry and educational partners, and contributing to school and polytechnic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance curriculum, learning resources, assessment strategies and teaching practices across full-time and part-time programmes
• Deliver engaging, industry-relevant learning using appropriate pedagogies, technologies and applied learning experiences
• Mentor learners holistically, including pastoral care and supervision of projects and competitions
• Provide professional guidance to junior lecturers and help build the team's teaching capabilities
• Initiate and contribute to industry engagement projects and build networks with industry and educational partners
• Lead or contribute to student development, outreach and other institutional activities
• Take part in overseas learning opportunities such as study trips and immersion programmes, and support industry collaborations
• Perform other academic and administrative duties

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Banking and/or Finance
• At least 12 years of relevant experience in two or more of: AI and data analytics in finance, digital banking and FinTech, blockchain and DeFi, fund management and administration, consumer and corporate banking, sustainable finance, or risk and compliance
• Demonstrated depth and breadth of industry experience, including leading projects, teams or significant areas of work
• Passion for supporting learners and developing their potential

Required skills

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to manage diverse stakeholders and multiple priorities
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and comfort with digital tools
• Able to learn and apply new digital tools quickly
