Lecturer (Business Digitalisation)

About the role

Nanyang Polytechnic's School of Business Management is looking for a Lecturer in Business Digitalisation. The role teaches students how to think alongside AI tools rather than just use them, developing analytical thinking that transfers across tools and contexts, and helping learners know when to trust AI outputs, when to override them and how to combine human judgment with machine capability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver Data Analytics and Business Analytics programmes covering data literacy, visualisation, business intelligence, predictive analytics, AI applications and modern data platforms, using Excel, Power BI, Python and SQL.
• Teach predictive analytics and forecasting, including machine learning, clustering, dimension reduction and time-series analysis with Python and industry-standard libraries.
• Guide learners in building data-driven solutions and lightweight application prototypes, and integrate machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI into teaching.
• Develop and deliver continuing education and professional development programmes for working professionals.
• Design authentic learning activities and assessments, and develop, review and enhance curriculum, labs and materials.
• Stay up to date with analytics and AI developments and work with academic teams, industry partners and stakeholders on curriculum relevance.
• Mentor students, provide pastoral care, career guidance and internship support, and take part in outreach, recruitment and internationalisation activities.
• Teach full-time and adult learners, adapting to their experience levels.

Required profile

• Relevant qualification in Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline (or Education with a strong analytics/technology focus).
• At least 3 years of experience in analytics, training delivery or professional development in technology, education, corporate or public-sector settings.
• Strong analytics capability, including data preparation, analysis, modelling and turning insights into business decisions.
• Ability to teach technical concepts to non-technical audiences and to communicate with stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python for analytics and machine learning, including predictive modelling, clustering, dimension reduction, forecasting and model evaluation.
• Ability to build lightweight Python web applications with SQL databases.
• Strong Excel and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau); Databricks exposure is a plus.
• Working knowledge of machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI, and familiarity with GenAI tools and AI ethics and governance.
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform and Microsoft 365 is an advantage.
