Lecturer - Cyber & Network Security (2-Year Contract)

About the role

ITE College East is recruiting a Lecturer in Cyber & Network Security for a 2-year contract. Beyond teaching, the lecturer helps recognise and nurture students' potential and lifelong learning needs, while keeping close links with industry and schools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deliver course materials in On-Premise and Cloud-based Networking, System Administration, IT Security, Digital Forensics, Cyber Security, Security Penetration Testing & Operations and Programming.
• Facilitate e-learning, enrichment and other self-directed learning.
• Supervise students in project works, competitions and internships.
• Handle other academic duties and administration.
• Take part in student development, mentoring, outreach programmes and community work.
• Engage in research activities for professional development.
• Carry out industry or consultancy projects and take regular industry attachments to stay current.

Required profile

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Security, preferably in the security industry.
• Passion for teaching and student development.
• Aptitude for learning new security technologies.
• Professional certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, MCSE/MCSD, CEH/CHFI, CISSP/CISA, OSCP or cloud certifications (AWS/Google/Azure) are an added advantage.
• Experienced candidates may be considered for Senior Lecturer or equivalent roles with career paths to leadership positions in the colleges or headquarters.

• Networking concepts: routers, switches, wireless access points.
• Operating systems: Windows Server, Linux, Mac.
• Security concepts: firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, antivirus, SIEM, IAM, web/app security.
• Virtualised environments: Hyper-V, VMware, VirtualBox, Xen, KVM.
• Programming/scripting languages such as Java, Python, C#.
