Lecturer / Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor, Human Resource Management

About the role

Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) is inviting applications for an open-rank faculty position in Human Resource Management within the S R Nathan School of Human Development. The successful candidate will teach and conduct research in HRM and closely related fields, joining a programme that offers a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management.

Key responsibilities

• Teach in human resource management and conduct research in applied social sciences
• Work with students and associate faculty to expand their knowledge and skills
• Collaborate with stakeholders to innovate teaching pedagogy and design and deliver courses in a hybrid mode
• Help expand the teaching provision and build the research environment

Required profile

• PhD from an internationally recognised university, preferably in a discipline related to HRM such as management, industrial-organisational psychology, labour economics, applied sociology, information technology management or organisational behaviour
• Experience of teaching at undergraduate level
• Strong research pipeline targeting reputable academic journals
• Desirable: at least 3 years of work experience (including consultancy, training and teaching) in private or public sector HRM or related fields
• Desirable: experience in course design, collaborating with industry partners for teaching and adopting new technology in teaching

• Good communication and interpersonal skills and a high level of integrity
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, keep up with developments in the field, think strategically and act as a role model for students
• Preferred: ability to teach in HRM and technology, compensation and benefits, training and development, HR analytics, performance management, total rewards, employment law and industrial relations
