Legal Counsel – Corporate Real Estate & M&A

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join the legal team of a leading Asia‑headquartered real estate group. Reporting to the General Counsel, you will provide legal advice on a wide range of corporate real estate and transactional matters, supporting acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and strategic investments across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on real estate investments and transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and strategic partnerships.
• Support M&A and other corporate transactions from structuring and due diligence through negotiation, documentation and completion.
• Draft, review and negotiate transaction documents such as sale and purchase agreements, shareholders' agreements, joint venture agreements and other commercial contracts.
• Collaborate with investment, finance, asset‑management and other business teams on transaction execution and strategic initiatives.
• Provide practical legal advice on corporate, commercial and real estate matters arising from the group's operations.
• Coordinate and manage external counsel across relevant jurisdictions when required.
• Identify key legal and transaction risks and deliver commercially pragmatic solutions to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 6 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Strong background in corporate real estate transactions and M&A.
• Experience advising on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures or investment transactions within the real estate sector.
• Prior in‑house experience with a real estate developer, investment platform, fund or similar corporate environment is preferred.
• Candidates from leading law firms with corporate/M&A and real estate transactional experience are also encouraged to apply.
