About the role
Temu is seeking an experienced in‑house data privacy lawyer to join its legal team in Singapore. The role will provide expert legal advice on global data privacy matters, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and supporting the development of privacy‑first products and services.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business units to assess data privacy and security risks, regulatory controls, and governance for products and technologies.
- Support the creation of trustworthy, privacy‑first products and services.
- Advise on data management, including privacy considerations for product, marketing, advertising, and data governance.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise for regulatory investigations, individual complaints, and inquiries.
- Offer guidance across all areas of global privacy law, including highly regulated and sensitive data.
- Draft, review, and negotiate data protection terms in commercial agreements.
Required profile
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school or equivalent.
- Active membership in good standing with a recognized bar association.
- Extensive experience in data privacy law with deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, PIPA, and related regulations.
- Proven track record advising on complex privacy issues, building compliance programs, and implementing privacy solutions.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High integrity, professionalism, and meticulous attention to detail.
