Legal Counsel

About the role

The Legal Counsel will join Bridgestone’s Legal and Compliance Team at the Regional Head Office in Singapore. The role provides legal, compliance and risk support across designated APAC geographies, acting as a trusted advisor to business units.

Key responsibilities

• Lead counsel for commercial agreements, including procurement, OEM, distributorship and dealer contracts.
• Draft, review, negotiate and manage contracts while mitigating legal risks.
• Liaise with external counsel and manage negotiations with customers, channel partners and vendors.
• Develop and deliver training to internal stakeholders on contract review and compliance matters.
• Provide legal guidance across procurement, logistics, supply chain, brand marketing, labour & employment, IT, debt collection, dispute resolution, IP, corporate communications, governance and strategic transactions.
• Support compliance and risk initiatives, including antibribery, antitrust, sanctions and data privacy investigations.
• Partner with stakeholders at all levels across regions to promote a culture of ethical conduct.

Required profile

• LL.B or equivalent degree in Law.
• Professional legal qualification (Bar admission, Solicitor’s qualification) or equivalent.
• 7‑10 years of post‑qualification experience in a law firm and/or corporate in‑house legal department, preferably within an MNC.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with urgency.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrated counseling and decision‑making ability aligned with business strategy.
