Legal Entity Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Entity Controller to join our Commodities & Shipping Trading finance team in Singapore. The role will ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance for our ocean freight operations, supporting senior leadership with insightful analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit processes by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries.
• Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers and accounting systems in line with local accounting and tax regulations.
• Manage and monitor accounting transactions related to ocean freight shipments, including freight charges, lease depreciation, accretion and ancillary costs.
• Prepare standard and ad‑hoc financial reports and analyses for senior executives, stakeholders and board members.
• Act as a subject‑matter expert, providing technical assistance and ensuring accounting practices align with business processes and internal controls.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant.
• Proven experience in a small‑sized finance function, handling technical accounting requirements.
• Experience leading complex audits.
• Knowledge of lease accounting; freight accounting knowledge is a plus.
