Lights Commercial Manager – Asia Pacific

About the role

bp’s Global Lightends business is seeking a senior Commercial Manager to lead its Asia Pacific operations. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, Global Lightends, the role will shape business direction, drive commercial performance and foster a high‑performance, safety‑focused culture across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Support delivery of commercial strategy and business plans for Asia Pacific.
• Partner with trading and origination teams to identify opportunities, manage priorities and drive growth.
• Lead regional business planning, including financial targets, resource allocation and capability development.
• Provide oversight on portfolio development, opportunity prioritisation and commercial structures.
• Monitor business performance, address emerging risks and improve operational effectiveness.
• Ensure trading activities comply with internal policies, external regulations and bp’s Code of Conduct.
• Promote strong governance, risk management and compliance practices.
• Create an inclusive, collaborative team environment and mentor team members.
• Build strong relationships with trading, analytics, operations, risk, finance, compliance and other business groups.

Required profile

• Senior‑level commercial management experience, preferably in commodity trading or energy markets.
• Proven ability to lead regional business planning and drive financial performance.
• Strong leadership and people‑development skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, ethics and compliance.
