Machine Learning Engineer - E-commerce Merchant Growth (LLM & Agentic Systems)

About the role

ByteDance is building next‑generation AI‑driven tools that accelerate merchant growth across its global e‑commerce ecosystem. As a Machine Learning Engineer you will design, develop, and ship large‑scale LLM‑powered agentic systems that turn massive e‑commerce data into actionable insights for sellers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deploy deep‑learning and large‑language‑model (LLM) solutions for merchant operational tools and growth scenarios.
• Leverage large‑scale e‑commerce datasets to power agentic systems for tasks such as CRM content generation, store decoration, automated email replies, and outreach optimization.
• Build ML models that predict seller performance, identify growth gaps, and recommend personalized interventions.
• Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to integrate AI capabilities into production at scale.
• Monitor, evaluate, and continuously improve model performance in a fast‑moving commercial environment.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operations Research, Data Mining or a related field.
• Proven experience building and deploying large‑scale machine‑learning systems.
• Strong analytical mindset with a passion for applying AI to real‑world commerce challenges.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
