Machinist Technician - Aircraft Engine Components

About the role

Pratt & Whitney Singapore, part of RTX, is recruiting an onsite Technician (Machinist) at its component repair facility in Seletar. The role involves repairing aircraft engine components to quality standards through machining and related mechanical work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform machining operations such as CNC, lathe, grinding, milling and EDM to repair aircraft engine components and meet quality standards.
• Cross-train to support repair and overhaul of aero-engine components by benching, blasting, blending, polishing or using other required mechanical skills.
• Perform total productive maintenance (TPM) on machines.
• Program and troubleshoot as required by the engineer.
• Follow procedures and guidelines, report incidents, hazards and emergencies to the supervisor, assess risks and take corrective and preventive action.
• Take part in audits and inspections, attend EHS training and support continuous improvement and CORE activities.

Required profile

• GCE O' Level, NITEC, Higher NITEC or Diploma in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
• Basic ability to understand technical instructions and SOPs, and comfort with hands-on work with equipment, tools and machines.
• Basic oral and written English.
• Willingness to work rotating day and night shifts and overtime when needed.
• Aerospace, manufacturing or precision engineering experience is a plus.

Required skills

• Relevant CNC 3-axis, 5-axis or conventional machining experience, or strong interest in learning machining operations.
• On-the-job training and certifications are provided.
