Maintenance Manager, Energy-from-Waste

About the role

The Maintenance Manager will lead the maintenance function of an Energy‑from‑Waste plant, ensuring safe, efficient and uninterrupted operation of all plant equipment. Reporting to the Deputy Head of the plant, you will drive predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance programmes across mechanical, instrumentation and electrical disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise mechanical, instrumentation and electrical maintenance teams.
• Develop and enforce maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
• Oversee predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance activities for waste handling, combustion, flue‑gas cleaning and ash handling systems.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety (OSHA) and environmental regulations, including incident reporting and emergency response planning.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of statutory requirements and liaise with regulatory agencies.
• Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, monitoring costs and identifying savings.
• Drive training and development programmes for maintenance personnel.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary maintenance teams in an industrial setting.
• Strong understanding of safety and environmental compliance in plant operations.
• Experience budgeting and cost control for maintenance functions.
• Ability to develop and implement robust maintenance strategies.
